It won't be long before the tulips are blooming and the opportunity to play golf more consistently will be here. Over the last few weeks the face of Hyde Park has evolved significantly with the Legacy project. On the course, we have mowed and rolled the putting surfaces several times and we are beginning to get into full gear with the arrival of our seasonal staff and it won't be long before our two Turfgrass interns will arrive. Our focus on the course will be with continued spring bunker clean-up, the addition of a Turf fan on the 6th green and navigating the tasks with the Legacy enhancements.
Fan Placement |
The Grounds team has adapted well, to the changes the Legacy project has brought including;
-The loss (Somedays) of the grounds road
-Removal of gas line to the Grounds Building has meant cold water and very little heat :)
-And everyone's favorite plenty of mud and multiple pairs of footwear
Bob's Choice for the Clubhouse |
All kidding aside, we realize this is an inconvenience to all of members and guests at Hyde Park, but we are excited for the end product that will exceed expectations! The project continues at rapid pace even considering the challenging weather.
On the North Side, we are starting to see all the efforts take shape with:
-Landscape beds being roughed-in
-Irrigation installation
-Paver path install
On the South Side, when the project is finished roughly 15,000 cubic yards of soil will be moved around the site; dry weather is a must to stay on schedule. Unfortunately, Mother Nature will dictate the schedule in many avenues. The demo and earthwork that has been completed thus far has been incredible considering the poor weather. The new range and short game area is taking shape, it won't be long until the golf course contractor arrives on site in May to complete the irrigation, drainage and final shaping of these areas.
